Admissions

Seaport is a state-approved, Grades 8-12 all-boys school.

Art at the ICA tripStudents are referred to us by their public school’s special education director or out-of-district coordinator. We can also accept private pay students if space permits.

Applications for admission are accepted throughout the school year from local school districts and private referrals.

The admissions process officially begins when Seaport Academy receives a referral from the student’s school. If we believe we can meet the student’s needs, we inform the district.

We then invite the student and family/guardian to schedule a visit to our campus. Students will have the opportunity to see our program in action, meet some of our teachers and staff, and ask questions about our program.

Seaport staff works together with the family, student and district to make a final decision. If Seaport is a good fit and we believe we can meet their needs, we will welcome them to our community and fully support them in making a successful transition. Our goal is to ensure that every prospective student and family has the information they need to make a good decision.

For Families

At Seaport Academy, we realize that for many parents and guardians, your student’s journey to our school has been long and complex – with roadblocks along the way. For this reason, it is especially important that we believe that we can meet your student’s needs as we go through the admissions process with you and the referring district.

As stated earlier, the admissions process begins only after Seaport Academy receives an official referral from the student’s school. After carefully reviewing the referral and determining that Seaport could be a good fit, we inform the district.

We then schedule a visit to our campus for both the student and you. This way you can meet some of our teachers and staff, ask questions and experience our program.

We will then work with your student, your family and the referring district to make a final decision. If we decide together that Seaport is the best choice for your student, we will support you in making a successful transition.
