Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year!

Seaport students returned for orientation last week. Amid hearty welcome breakfasts, kickball games and teambuilding activities, we managed to review our handbooks, visit new classrooms and meet as a whole group to discuss many exciting changes.

One of the biggest changes was the addition of two new teachers, Amy Adler and Rob Doton.

Amy will serve as Seaport’s English teacher. She’s taught in New York City and Cambridge and enjoys writing and reading. Amy also has an MFA in playwriting, perhaps there is some drama in store for English students this year.

Rob is from Vermont and he enjoys sports and fitness activities including skiing, baseball, football and soccer. Rob is committed to helping Seaport students develop ease and fluency in mathematics this year.

In other news, former English teacher, Melissa Byron, will serve along with Angela Merret and Cody Publicover, as one of Seaport Academy’s learning specialists this year. Seaport also welcomes our two new counseling interns, Valerie and Jane.
