Last week a dozen students and staff went to experience “The Lost Treasure of Castle Hill,” an eight-acre corn maze in Ipswich. The weather seemed like it was going to deter us from our trip, but we decided to stick it out, and a fine trip we had.
Not only was it fun walking through the maze, but the students had the opportunity to reinforce some of the work we've been doing as part of our history curriculum. As we made our way through the maze, they answered questions about pirates, not the Jack Sparrow kind from Walt Disney, but the real pirates like Edward Teach (Blackbeard) and Mary Read. (Yes, Pirates were real.)
A great time was had by all, and we can’t wait for next year’s maze.
