Seaport Academy’s Spring Institutes 2011
May 23rd to 27th, Seaport students will be engaged in our annual week of Spring Institutes. We have a diverse group of offerings this year including: New York Architecture, Beginning Seamanship, The Fishing Industry, Boston Movies/Boston Food, Outdoor Adventures, and Charles River Clean-Up.
On Wednesday, March 2nd, Seaport held its first in-service training for Seaport staff and family members. Donna Ricci, from Attune Coaching, spoke to staff and parents about the struggles of working with children and students who have difficulty with time management and daily living skills.
Seaport Academy will be holding an in-service training on Organizational Skills (Executive Functioning) for both staff and family members on Wednesday, March 2 from 1:00 -3:00 pm at Seaport Academy.
Last Wednesday Seaport Academy celebrated the holidays with a rousing morning kickball game followed by our annual Seaport Academy Thanksgiving Feast.
Former Seaport graduates were invited to visit Seaport, reconnect with staff and students and enjoy a home cooked Thanksgiving meal. Seaport's staff cooked a 28-pound turkey along with all the fixings including mashed potatoes, squash, stuffing and a few exotic dishes like curried squash with quinoa, pumpkin soup and homemade bread.
